How does it work?
SpectroEdge 5000 is installed on a mechanical arm that travels across the web, reading 3x6mm color samples either at preset intervals or frequencies, or via a hard-wired signal initiated by the printing press controller. Its software converts the raw data, instantly interpreting the color values sent to the host computer to make automatic press adjustments. SpectroEdge runs on an embedded version of Linux operating system, and is capable of monitoring up to 4 high-speed control signals providing bi-directional communications with the host computer for greater production automation and efficiency.

At what speed does it run?
SpectroEdge is designed to keep pace with presses running 650 feet/minute. Its thirty-one reported spectral bands ensure accurate spectral remission measurement for wavelengths between 400 to 700nm.
