DOT GAIN/CONTRAST is closely related to the Dot Area function, and allows user to quickly measure and display the level of dot gain of several non-solid, percent dot patches in a color bar.

How it works: In this example, user measures a solid cyan patch, then the percent dot cyan patches. Dot Gain/Contrast displays the resulting dot gains for each patch.

-Quantifies amount of dot gain on press
-Identifies excessive dot gain, indicating a press, blanket or plate problem
